Alexei Yagudin, Evgeni Plushenko, Brian Joubert- three male figure skaters. I love them all.

Yep, all three of them are great and Brian has actually improved a lot since he has Alexei as a trainer as well. I'm really glad the Worlds podium was as I expected it to be, at least regarding the gold and silver medal. I really miss Alexei though I remember seeing him for the last time two years ago, when I was 12. I'll miss Baboo and Zhenya, too until the Europeans come next year. Damn...

[identity profile] spiceonice.livejournal.com 2004-04-18 02:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Things have changed a lot since 2 years ago, don't you think? I was just 12 then, too. It's sad, because the first time I saw Plush/Yags, it was on Valentine's Day and it was the Olympics and I would have never thought I would become such a fan like I have, and then just a little bit later, Alexei goes pro. (And recently Sasha Abt too, and I really liked him.) The competition between Plush and Baboo is really exciting, not to mention all the other great rising males (I think Stephane Lambiel has a lot of potential.) Plush has to get his knee fixed now, though.

[identity profile] fanged-angel.livejournal.com 2004-04-19 05:31 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, exactly when I was starting to like skating a lot more than before (now I'm a big fan), Alexei goes pro. That really depressed me.
I loved the competition and friendship between Plush and Yags, but the competition between Plush and Baboo, I agree with you, is also exciting. Plush definitely has to fix his knee, I was crushed at the Euros, when I saw him fall, I wanted to die. I started crying and I almost never cry. Only Alexei and Plush managed to make me cry in front of the TV. You're right things have changed a lot and I hate myself for not being able to remember Alexei better. I was 12, what can you expect. Now I'm 14 and instead of growing wiser, i'm becoming more stupid.
See ya, Steph!

[identity profile] sectioaurea.livejournal.com 2004-04-19 09:23 am (UTC)(link)
Something sucks... I think I'm not going to see Euros '05 live. If I want to get myself to Moscow, I'll never get enough money. Well, have to see. If my father would be nice, for once...

And I feel a bit weird, because I didn't watch skating two years ago. Not fanatically, that is. But some ten-twelve years ago, that's a different story.

[identity profile] spiceonice.livejournal.com 2004-04-19 05:09 pm (UTC)(link)
I thought I was the only one who cried during that! It made me feel so low..he kept falling and it wasn't like the commentators were very sympathetic. It was awful. It's hard to watch Plush on TV with other people because I get very emotionally involved sometimes..after Wprlds I was running around the house screaming "Zhenya! Zhenya!" Luckily only my grandmother was home ^^ Have you ever seen a live performance? I saw Alexei in February and he totally blew me away! He's very feisty and passionate, no? Oh, why do you think you are getting more stupid? I am sure it isn't so. You know what, now that I think of it I did act more maturely then too!

[identity profile] fanged-angel.livejournal.com 2004-04-21 08:32 am (UTC)(link)
No, you were not the only one that cried. I wanted to kill the commentators, they were awful, too. And it's a good thing I only watch the competitions with my mom and my dad, sometimes, because i also get very emotional and I start running through the house and running and cheering and screaming. It's quite embarassing if someone else sees me.
Unfortunately, I've never seen any live performances, it's just that no one's coming to Spain and they wouldn't even dream of coming to Romania.
I think I'd die if I'd see Alexei or Evgeni live because they're both very passionate. They'd definitely blow me away.
See you around!
*hugs*

[identity profile] spiceonice.livejournal.com 2004-04-21 05:27 pm (UTC)(link)
If my parents or any family member knew about my Zhenya obsession they would never let me live it down! Although I don't know how they haven't caught on yet. Whenever he's on TV I act strangely and they hear the kind of stuff I shout to him when I go see Champions on Ice. Speaking of that, Live performances are so fabulous. That's really too bad they don't do them where you are. I've never seen a competetion, we go to see the ones were they tour, and I'm sure the competitions are a lot better but this will do! Because I can actually talk to them and be close enough to see their 5 o'clock shadows! But when I get home I can never sleep, because of how fabulous they were.

[identity profile] fanged-angel.livejournal.com 2004-04-26 10:25 am (UTC)(link)
Wow, my parents, especially my mom because my dad's usually at work when the Worlds and Euros are, also adore Zhenya. My mom also started crying when we saw Zhenya's LP at the Euros. i mean, we couldn't believe our eyes.
You're so lucky that you can go see them on tour. With some luck I'll be in Moscow next year, screa, ming my heart out and watching Zhenya live.
I don't think I'd sleep either if I'd be you I'd also stay up all night thinking about how fabulous they were.*sighs*
I can't wait to see them.
*hugs*
See you around.

[identity profile] spiceonice.livejournal.com 2004-04-26 07:06 pm (UTC)(link)

That's great that you can share the Zhenya love! My family doesn't really pay too much attention. My mom..you know, she likes the skaters that were popular years ago. Although we all did watch the Grand Prix together, most of the time I'm watching skating by myself, or with my little sister, whom I have gotten to become a big skating fan. (Her favorite is Tim Goebel, so you can imagine she was pretty sad this season. Although she likes Zhenya too, especially she liked his EX.) I was watching Euros all by myself..you can't believe what a blow that was..I could barely watch it. Every time he would slip up it would be such a blow to me. I would give up all the times I went to see them to go to Moscow though..that's the country where he actually grew up, The Worlds don't comapre anything to the little exhibition tours they do around the US. But I got to see him and he saw me too. And I will be in Italy in 2006 with one of my best friends for sure. Now that will be a party. You have to come and help me kidnap Zhenya. ^^

[identity profile] fanged-angel.livejournal.com 2004-04-29 10:58 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, i consider myself lucky for being able to share the Zhenya love with my family. Hell, even I missed Timmy this year. I really hope that I'll be able to go to Moscow. It's such a wondeful dream. If I go, I promise that I'll make lots of pics and send them to you. I'd love to go to Torino. Maybe I'll be a good friend to you, too until then. You and Aurea are my best friends now.It seems that I only have friends on LJ. You two. I am pathetic, aren't I?
*hugs*

[identity profile] fanged-angel.livejournal.com 2004-04-29 11:01 am (UTC)(link)
And congrats on managing to turn your sis in a skating fan. And at the Euros I felt my heart being ripped out every time he slipped. It was the saddest day of my life.

[identity profile] spiceonice.livejournal.com 2004-04-29 07:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes..it's nice to have someone around that I can actually talk skating with. Except whenever Zhenya comes on the TV, she looks at me and smiles and giggles. I felt bad for Tim. He had a lot of problems this year. Although I do think he is rather bland. Was it really the saddest day of your life? I don't think I can say the same..but it was really awful. I will pray that you can make it to Moscow; I really hope that the dream will come true. I am already waiting for the pics! ^^ It's SO not pathetic. I feel that way too. You are the best.

[identity profile] fanged-angel.livejournal.com 2004-04-30 10:37 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, Tim is kind of bland. Well, not everyone is as good as the Russians. OK, maybe not the saddest day of my life, but it's definetly in the top 3.
*gasps* You called me the best! Wow, thankies! I needed to ehar that. maybe I'll start believing it soon.
Thanks for praying for me to go to Moscow, I'm also praying. I promise I'll give you all the pics if I go! I'm glad you don't think I'm pathetic. Thanks again!
*hugs*

(Can't blame you about exaggerating. That day was awful.) Yeah, Rossiya is unstoppable when it comes to their fabulous skaters. I wonder what it is? It's interesting to see what skaters from the same countries have in common with each other. For example, the way that skaters from Switzerland spin so amazingly. Or how skaters from the US are so boring :-b
Don't worry, my sweet. You are the best. Thanks so much for being there for me. Of course I don't think you are pathetic...seems like you care more about me than anyone at school.

[identity profile] fanged-angel.livejournal.com 2004-05-03 09:08 am (UTC)(link)
I think most Russians have art in their blood. The best ballet dancers are Russians, best figure skaters are Russian, they have great musicians, violinists, pianists, writers...
I agree with you, Swiss skaters spin amazingly. They always surprise me. Skaters from the US, like the ones from Japan and China don't have the sparkle Russians have. They never will, I guess.
I'll always be here for you when you'll need me. I hope I can be of some help to you. And I care a lot for you. You're a great friend for me.

[identity profile] spiceonice.livejournal.com 2004-05-03 06:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. They either have art in their blood, or they are cold-blooded people who eat reindeer and have only one eyebrow! ^_^ The Asians too are boring. Like, here everyone is crazy about Michelle Kwan. I think she is so boring! (She's part Asian and part American, so that makes her an EXTRA boring skater, in my opinion.) When I saw Champions on Ice, she was the last person to skate. Zhenya was second last. He did a much better job, and I was the only one who stood up and cheered for him. Everyone stood up for Michelle, and I stayed sitting down. ^_- You are helping me, beloved, just by reading what I have to say. You are doing this for me, my friend, and I thank you so much for it. I am so glad we got to know each other, and I hope we can stay friends for a very long time.

[identity profile] fanged-angel.livejournal.com 2004-05-05 11:10 am (UTC)(link)
I prefer the one who have art in their blood, thank you.*grin*
Of course Zhenya did a much better job than Michelle but the American pride...you should know this better than me. I'm happy I'm helping you and that I met you and Aurea. You make my life happier and my day a whole lot brighter. *Super-giant hugs*

[identity profile] spiceonice.livejournal.com 2004-05-05 05:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Lol. But, you must realize that they aren't all a perfect race! You are going to have your "staraya zhaba"s and stuff..old ladies who will whack you around and people who laugh at foreigners. Yes I know..just because she's an American everyone thinks she is SO great..they must all be blind, because looking at Zhenya's skating vs. hers, Zhenya's wins hands down! Well, I stood up for him, and he waved at me, and that's all that matters. *Sings in a loud voice*: "Youuuu...ROOOOOCCCCCKKKKKK......HERE'S A HUGE.....HHHHHHHUUUUUUUGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" And, just imagine lots of trumpets and symbols and stuff and me with a tuxedo and a really big belly...

[identity profile] fanged-angel.livejournal.com 2004-05-07 10:06 am (UTC)(link)
*dies of laughter*
You crack me up! Of course they're not a perfect race. Most of the "normal" Russian men drink vodka like water, which is not always a good thing. And the old ladies and such...
I claim my undying love for Stephanie "Steph" Plushenko!

[identity profile] spiceonice.livejournal.com 2004-05-07 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, but you must remember..there aren't very many attractive Russian women! There are some but not a lot (that's what I've heard)..and the guys, it seems like they are all hot..so they get so depressed about the lack of good looking girls, and alcohol is really cheap, and people laugh at you if you ask for soda in a restaurant. It's the culture that forces them to drink. And I'd be fine with the old ladies. I've had enough experience with my grandmother to handle any babushka. Thanks! YUS! *Beats her fist on her heart* Ahh, Stephanie Plushenko..it has a nice ring to it...(But I think I like Mrs. Jas Plushenko better!)

[identity profile] fanged-angel.livejournal.com 2004-05-08 11:15 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, but there also are some very attractive Russian woemn. They usually have a charm about them, like French women. And Tatiana Navka, Irina Slutskaya and all those are very nice. I've seen a lot of ugly Russian guys, honestly. But, of course, they can't all be Yags, Edvin, Ilia or Zhenya, can they? They drink a lot because of the cold, usually. And they really do drink a lot. My mom once said about them that vodka sparkles in their eyes. She was joking of course. yeah, I've also had enough experience with my grandmothers to handle _any_ babushka. Stephanie Plushenko sounds great. Hm...Mrs. Yasmine Plushenko. Hm...how about Mrs. Yasmine Yagudin? Initials YY. Mrs.Yasmine Yagudin and Mrs. Stephanie Plushenko, two best friends married to the best and most gorgeous skaters ever.^^

[identity profile] spiceonice.livejournal.com 2004-05-08 08:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Well...I guess I kind of exaggerated to make a point. Sometimes it needs to be done! In fact I really didn't know how to explain the vodka drinking so I just made up a ridiculous explanation. That would be the greatest, YY! Maybe we could make them become friends with each other finally, because, you know, they love their wives so much they are willing to give it a try! We should write a joint fic about it!

[identity profile] fanged-angel.livejournal.com 2004-05-10 09:06 am (UTC)(link)
You didn't exagerate, it's OK.YY...it soudns nice doesn't it, SP? I hope we'll be able to make those two friends. My Zhenya/Alexei fic is suffering greatly because of that Alexei interview I read on Saturday.:-(
The one you read as well.
See ya later, Mrs. Plushenko.
*hugs*

[identity profile] spiceonice.livejournal.com 2004-05-10 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Is it, really? I read that article really fast...was he really speaking that badly about Zhenya? (Maybe they had a fight the night before about who was better in the bedroom-you never know!) I was at school so I wasn't really paying attention..maybe I shall read it again. But we would make them friends..we can do anything.

[identity profile] fanged-angel.livejournal.com 2004-05-14 09:26 am (UTC)(link)
WEll, he mostly talked about Mishin and how he always put Evgeni before Alexei and crap. You must read it carefully. It almost made me cry, to be honest. I still can't writ my fic.
WE must make them friends.

[identity profile] spiceonice.livejournal.com 2004-05-14 01:57 pm (UTC)(link)
He is probably just holding a grudge. A spoiled little Russian prince is what he is now that he's won all of that junk. I think he's kind of sad, to tell you the truth. Especially now that he's a pro. He needs some fun girls like us to brighten up his life.

[identity profile] fanged-angel.livejournal.com 2004-05-16 09:34 am (UTC)(link)
My mom has another theory. She said that, as a coach, you must be very careful with your pupils and not show you care more for one than for the other, because then jealousies appear and grudges and hate and all that. And she said that Alexei was probably tired of being poor all his life, and going pro brings a lot of money. Oh well. He shouldn't think he's so much better than others, that's all. He's not the greatest, OK, maybe he is more graceful and more classic than Evgeni is, but that doesn't mean Evgeni sucks. Or Brian, or Andrei or whomever. I agree that he needs some girls like us to brighten up his life. Or Zhenya. You know what they say, they should "kiss and make up".*grin*

[identity profile] spiceonice.livejournal.com 2004-05-17 05:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah but Zhenya was poor too remember! Now look at all of the junk he has-like 4 cell phones! Guess it's just the Russian moodiness..

"You know what they say, they should "kiss and make up"."

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[identity profile] fanged-angel.livejournal.com 2004-05-18 10:05 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, I know Zhenya was poor too, most Russian skaters were and some stil are poor, because that's how Russians are. I'm a Romanian, I know how that's lie, because Russians and the Soviet Union and all that had a big influence on my stupid litte country.
We must write them a letter:"GUYS DON'T BE TOTAL IDIOTS YOU MUST KISS AND MAKE UP. YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO...'
*grin*
*hugs*
hey, Steph? Did you manage to find a way so I can see my icon you made for me? Because I really want to see it.*sob*

[identity profile] spiceonice.livejournal.com 2004-05-18 06:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Well it must be hard to make a living as a figure skater in any country you are living in-unless you are the best, you don't get paid much at all. Oh, my gosh. I have to write them both telling them that. I know Zhen's mail, do you know Yags'? If you don't mind, it would be the easiest if you could give me your e-mail and I will send it to you there, because the image uploading website that I use is being a poo-head.

[identity profile] fanged-angel.livejournal.com 2004-05-20 10:03 am (UTC)(link)
God, I _hate_ this keyboard, I can't stand making typing errors and now I have at least 200 in every entry.
Anyways, as Yags said that he is not a computer nerd, he doesn't have an e-mail address. My e-mail address is: olga_jas@yahoo.co.uk and please say it's you in the subject. Thanks for sending it to me, I can't wait to see it.
*huggles*

[identity profile] spiceonice.livejournal.com 2004-05-21 03:56 pm (UTC)(link)
That's okay, as long as I know what you are saying it doesn't really matter about the spelling mistakes. No big deal my friend. Ugh, just because you have an email address doesn't make you a computer nerd! Damn him..well anyways I'll send you the thing, it's really dumb, I'm just warning you.

[identity profile] fanged-angel.livejournal.com 2004-05-22 11:15 am (UTC)(link)
I know that doesn't make you a computer nerd but Alexei is Alexei.
And I loved the thing.
